About BFA

Why Bonneville Football Academy?
BFA is a Collegiate Post-Grad Program in Central Florida tailored to empower young men who have recently (or will soon) graduate high school and they do not have an opportunities at the next level. We give students an additional semester to elevate their game and academic readiness.
Who We Are
As the pioneering post-graduate institution in the Orlando area, established in November 2021, we at Bonneville Football Academy hold a steadfast commitment to nurturing student-athletes through a blend of compassion, mentorship, and the occasional dose of tough love. With an unparalleled dedication to our mission, we boast an exceptional track record, successfully securing opportunities for our students at the next level.
Central to our approach is a focus on academic excellence and personalized guidance. We meticulously assess each student’s unique strengths and aspirations, tailoring individualized academic paths and athletic training programs to ensure optimal development. Our unwavering dedication to finding the perfect collegiate fit for every student underscores our commitment to their long-term success.
What is a “Post-Graduate” Year?
A post-graduate (PG) year, a bridge between high school graduation and college matriculation, is a transformative opportunity for growth. Unlike other PG programs, BFA’s iteration spans a single semester, from August to November/December (depending on NPGAA playoffs), providing a condensed yet intensive experience. Our goal is for the athletes to do a mid-year transfer, moving to the college level in January following our program end. We will still however continue the recruiting process with athletes until everyone has a college level home.
How Do Students Benefit from a Post-Graduate Year?
Student-athletes benefit from this post-graduate semester as we prepare them comprehensively for the rigors of college and collegiate-level athletics. Transitioning from high school, our program instills structured expectations with less hand-holding, fostering independence and accountability. We prioritize academic improvement, aiming to amplify college offers and enhance financial aid opportunities. On the field, our focus is on individual player development, identifying areas of growth to elevate their recruitment potential. Moreover, we provide guidance on marketing strategies, not only for college opportunities but also for potential NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals, empowering athletes to leverage their personal brand effectively.
What Happens to My College Eligibility When I Attend BFA?
Attending BFA does not impact collegiate eligibility. The NCAA eligibility clock remains unaffected during enrollment at our academy, ensuring that student-athletes retain full eligibility for their collegiate pursuits. What Are the Chances My Student-Athlete Earns a Scholarship to a Four-Year School?
While guarantees are not provided when a student choses the post-grad route, BFA offers unparalleled exposure to collegiate recruiters across various divisions. By positioning student-athletes strategically and focusing on skill refinement (both academically and on the field), we enhance their prospects for securing athletic scholarships. Our comprehensive approach emphasizes individual growth, skill development, and leveraging connections to maximize opportunities for collegiate recruitment.
We take pride in our track record of guiding players to receive offers from four-year programs across a spectrum of competition levels, D1 to NAIA. It’s important to note that an “offer” isn’t solely limited to athletic scholarships; these offers may include various forms of aid—financial, athletic, and academic—to support your athlete’s journey towards securing a spot at a four-year school. We endeavor to match each athlete with a program that not only enhances their performance on the gridiron but also aligns with their academic aspirations. Our ultimate aim is to ensure every athlete achieves a college degree. In pursuit of this goal, we educate our athletes on the college financial aid process, leveraging various forms of scholarships and aid to secure the most favorable financial outcomes. Our commitment extends beyond athletic success to empower our athletes to graduate from college without the burden of overwhelming debt.
How Will My Student-Athlete Get His Film Seen and Get Recruited?
At Bonneville Football Academy (BFA), we leverage cutting-edge technology and strategic networking to maximize the visibility of our student-athletes to collegiate programs. We partner with Hudl, a leading platform for creating highlight tapes, film breakdown, and recruiting tools, empowering players to curate professional “resumes” accessible to college coaches. In addition to collaborating with Hudl for highlight tapes and film breakdowns, we also partner with post-graduate recruits, utilizing their app alongside the National Post Grad Athletic Association (NPGAA) to further enhance marketing exposure. Through these alliances, we ensure our players have comprehensive visibility to collegiate programs, bolstering their chances of securing coveted scholarships.
Moreover, our personalized marketing profiles and regular dissemination of practice and game footage ensure that our athletes receive the exposure they deserve. Beyond technology, our extensive network and longstanding relationships within the collegiate recruitment sphere provide unique access to recruiting opportunities.
The BFA coaching staff brings a wealth of experience and connections across all levels of football. With backgrounds ranging from Division 1 programs like Ol’ Miss, University of Minnesota, and Bethune Cookman, to various other collegiate levels, arena football, semi-pro football, and even the NFL, our coaches offer unparalleled expertise and networking opportunities. Their extensive connections in the football world ensure that our student-athletes receive top-notch guidance and exposure to advance their careers.

What are the GPA requirements for eligibility and scholarship offers?
The NCAA establishes minimum GPA requirements for both eligibility and scholarship offers. To receive a scholarship offer, the NCAA mandates a CORE GPA of 2.0. However, for immediate competition eligibility at the Division 1 level, a 2.3 CORE GPA is required, while a 2.2 CORE GPA is necessary for immediate competition eligibility at the Division 2 level. It’s important to note that individual colleges and universities may have additional GPA requirements beyond these NCAA standards.
Are there standardized test score requirements for NCAA eligibility?
Yes, each institution may have its own admission requirements regarding SAT/ACT Test Scores. Additionally, the NCAA utilizes a sliding scale based on the test score and the Core GPA. National Standards typically include a score of 950 on the SAT and 18 on the ACT. However, specific requirements may vary depending on the institution and the NCAA Division.
At Bonneville Football Academy, we understand the importance of meeting both academic and standardized testing requirements. Our academic support staff works diligently with student-athletes to ensure they are well-prepared for success both in the classroom and on the field.
When does the program begin?
The program at Bonneville Football Academy commences upon signing the commitment form. Once the commitment is made, we initiate several key components of the program:
Academic Planning: Our academic support team collaborates with each student-athlete to develop personalized academic plans tailored to their goals and needs.
Marketing Initiatives: We begin marketing the players and the academy to potential collegiate programs, leveraging our network and resources to maximize exposure.
Player Marketing Plans: Student-athletes work on crafting their individual marketing plans, ensuring they are equipped with the tools and strategies to showcase their talents effectively to college coaches.
Meal Plans and Workouts: All players commence meal plans and workout routines. If a student-athlete is not participating in a spring sport, they immediately engage in these activities. For those involved in spring sports, meal plans and workouts commence once their spring season concludes.
At Bonneville Football Academy, we are dedicated to ensuring a smooth and productive start to our program, setting our student-athletes on the path to success both on and off the field from day one. Students move on campus on Sunday, August 4, 2024
TUITION & PAYMENT PLANS
At Bonneville Football Academy, we believe in providing accessible opportunities for aspiring student-athletes to pursue their dreams. Our semester tuition is $8000, which includes housing for the duration of the program.
We understand the financial commitment involved, which is why we offer a $2000 merit scholarship based on film evaluation. This scholarship is a testament to our recognition of talent and dedication.
After the merit scholarship, the remaining balance is to be covered by the athlete. We want to clarify that we do not accept FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), as this is intended for college courses only. However, we do accept payment plans and provide in-house financial aid options for those in need of assistance.
In our commitment to ensuring accessibility, we’ve established The Bonneville Foundation, a 501c3 organization aimed at supporting student-athletes. No student has been denied admittance to our program due to financial reasons. We encourage those seeking financial assistance to reach out to us directly to discuss available options.
At Bonneville Football Academy, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where financial concerns do not hinder opportunities for growth and success.
INSURANCE
Each player is required to carry their own Major Medical Insurance.
Trainers & Training
At Bonneville Football Academy, the health and well-being of our student-athletes are of paramount importance. We partner with highly qualified professionals within the area, ensuring a wealth of experience and expertise.
In the unfortunate event of an injury, our trainers coordinate doctor appointments with the BFA staff, and the protocol for return to play is determined by their discretion. It’s essential to note that players should not seek treatment from their family physician back home without prior permission from both the Trainer and the BFA Staff.
We emphasize the importance of maintaining peak physical condition throughout the season. It’s the responsibility of each player to report to camp in shape, and our trainers and coaches are dedicated to sustaining that level of fitness throughout the season.
